This pretty much sums up Friday through Sunday- rainy, cold and windy = cooped up.  I know how claustrophobic I get when I’m stuck inside for too long- it’s even worse for Ryder.

So,much to my delight- Monday was fabulous!

We got out with some friends and the boys had a fabulous time- running and stomping in all the puddles and anywhere else they could find water.  It was so great to see how much fun they were having.  There’s nothing better than seeing kids being kids.

I am going to take a vow to do this more often after a rain storm- just go out and find water for Ryder to splash around in and get dirty.

This day served as a reminder and proof that children don’t need “stuff” to be happy.  A stick, water, a little (or a lot) of mud and a good friend is all you need for a good time.

A lot of trees are starting to blossom- especially the cherry blossoms- and it’s just so beautiful and rejuvenating.  Every year I get so enraptured with the cherry blossoms, this year I am so inspired by them that I am staring a cherry blossom quilt.  I can’t wait to see how it progresses – right now it’s a vision in my head and I’ve started to gather the materials so I am going to start this week- will keep you posted on the progress.
